DETERMINANTS OF FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE: EVIDENCE FROM PAKISTAN STOCK EXCHANGE

This study investigates various determinants of financial performance of a company by taking variables such as sales, financial leverage, fixed assets, equity, current ratio, total assets and age of a firm and their impact on growth of firms in Pakistan. In this research, secondary data is used from the listed companies in “Pakistan Stock Exchange” the listed companies on the Pakistan Stock Exchange from 2009-2019 as well as from individual websites of firm’s researcher have calculated age. To estimate the impact of various abovementioned factors on firm’s growth. By use of correlation matrix, descriptive analysis and regression analysis following results are obtained that profitability is positive correlated with growth. Financial leverage and fixed assets are a strong determinant of firm’s growth. The equity has moderate impact on firm’s growth, so it is also a determinant. While liquidity and age of a firm are weak determinant of firm’s growth. The results have also shown that sales and size in form of total assets do not impact growth of a firm. So, they are not determinants of financial performance of a company.
